Geoboard - Geobord - Geobrett

Yesterday I made a geoboard for my daughter Eline (3.5yrs). She really likes it but she finds it a little bit hard to be creative with it. So I've also made 6 picture cards for her with some images I found on the internet.

Here is the template I've drawn to create the DIY geoboard. I've used a  square cork pot holder, 25 transparent pushpins and  rubber hair bands (small & large).

 

And here are the picture cards. I've used two colors: blue for the large hair bands and orange for the small hairbands.

 

I will make some picture cards with geometric shapes soon and post them on this blog too.

Polygons - Tangram Patterns

Geometry Set 02: Plane Shapes - Polygon and Non-polygon sort

How is a polygon different from other shapes? Your students will be asked to look at a variety of shapes and sort the polygons and not polygons. Then they will have to cut out the shapes and glue them onto two different templates: straight sides or curved sides. This will help them learn the identifying features of a polygon and how to recognize them when they see them.

Vlakke figuren - Veelhoeken en niet-veelhoeken sorteren

Wat is het verschil tussen veelhoeken en andere vlakke vormen? Deze werkbladen helpen de leerlingen het verschil te zien. Iedere leerlingen krijgt een setje werkbladen  bestaande uit 1 knipvel en 2 tangram werkbladen (1x veelhoeken + 1x niet veelhoeken) Eerst moeten de leerlingen de puzzelstukjes uitknippen en sorteren. Vervolgens kunnen ze de puzzelstukjes op de tangramfiguren plakken.
